Yeah, 1 year is gone… and it’s time for this post. So many things have happened during this period and I want to sum up all of them.
First it was adapt myself to this new environment…. I used to leave abroad but it’s not the Europe at all.

This year was full of different activities. I was meeting new people, experience new things, making friends, welcomes and farewells, happiness and sadness…

Work is that’s why I’m still here. It took me a while (I think 6 month for sure) to adjust myself. It wasn’t that many challenges and my colleagues were helping me any time I asked them. I just didn’t feel myself in the right shoes. There is one thing you have to remember to make things done :) Thee is no rush.

Travelling is a big part of me and my life. I can’t live without it. I visited Vancouver, Calgary, Jasper, Banff (Rocky Mountains), Montreal. And also discovering some small towns outside of the city and abandon places. And I hope it’s not the end. At least the next destination is Cuba (it just for vacation).
I first experienced camping. However it’s not the same camping as we used to imagine. Tents and fire, guitar and beer…funny moments. It’s all the same. In Canada you can not camping wherever you want. There are so many national parks and wild life. That’s why there is a special places with the camp sites which means with lots of restriction and rules. Due to this you always have to deal with a police because you’re young and can’t stay quite after 11 pm :)

Relationships. This part is going to be short because I still have to work on it :) It used to be a good time and happy months which I will remember. But there is not a happy end yet.

I tried snowboarding. I was full of bruises and my body soared but it was amazing. I’m still going to continue it this winter. It so much fun.

Celebrating my 25th Bday. It was the first time when I celebrated a birthday being out of home. Isn’t it strange :) I had totally new friends at my Bday party but my old good friends were also with me even for a distance. I’m happy that I have you in my life. You made my day and not only one.
Now I’m doing more sports as ever before. Besides going to a gym I started skating and dancing. Actually I’m continuing the last one because I was dancing since I was 6 years old. And it seems it’s going pretty good. I really enjoying dancing especially the Latin-American dances. Actually who doesn’t…
I decide to take a French course. I’m not that good in it as in dancing but I’m doing my best.

Almost all of my dreams came true. But there is still a room for new ones.

If you ask me what do I like here the most I definitely can say people. Canadians are very friendly and easy-going. I do really like Europe with all its history but I could not meet as many nice people as I did here.

Almost 1 week is gone since the Halloween but I still want to mentioned about this holiday.  It is one of the funniest holidays I could ever experience so far.
I was celebrating it in UkraineCanada you can really feel the spirit of it. Some houses were decorated with pumpkin (it’s for sure) and scary items.     but it's definitely not the same. Europeans just try to adapt this holiday.
But here in

This is a night of madness.  I could laugh so hard just watching people on the street. While I was waiting for my friends near the restaurant I saw 2  women who were homeless. At least they were dressed as homeless. They were coming my way and I thought they are going to ask me for some change. But when they walked  in the restaurant I realized that it was just their Halloween costume.

People are going crazy that night. Does not matter what age they are. All dressed in costumes.

And also what really impressed me that I did not meet people dressed twice in  the same costumes that night.

And this is how it was...

Haven't been here for ages.... Ok, I'll do my best. There are things I would like to share with you.

************************************************************************************************************

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.

It is the most requested column I've ever written.  My odometer rolled over to

90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.

Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.  Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

            22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

            23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

            24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25 No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

           26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

           27 Always choose life.

          28. Forgive everyone everything.

          29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

          30. Time heals almost everything. Give time.

          31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

          32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

          33. Believe in miracles.

          34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

          35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

          36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

          37. Your children get only one childhood.

          38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

          39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

          40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

          41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

          42. The best is yet to come.

          43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

          44. Yield.

          45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will,

forward this with the title '7%'.  I'm in the 7%.

I spent a lovely weekend out of the city. Hinton is a small town in AB province. 3 hours drive from Edmonton by car. The weather was perfect. I really enjoyed the time. I can say the spring is finally here. It’s already May and now I only can say it, hehe.
It was so romantic to sit on the of lakeside and look at the sunset  and mountains... Being exploring the area around  I could see squirrels and muskrat. And going also by bus I could see a wolf through the window next to a highway.  Is it great? The wild nature is really reach here. Canada is definitely  the country where you can see it.

ATTENTION!!!

 Dear friends,

I am involved in a project running an educational camp for orphans in Ukraine this summer, and am hoping for your support in this cause:
I want to introduce Vitaliy. He is 12, and has lived in a Ukrainian orphanage since he was 5. He was taken from his mother when she was diagnosed as an alcoholic and he has never met his father. ”When I grow up, I want to be a businessman, because they have fancy cars” he says. Unfortunately, according to statistics, he is highly unlikely ever to achieve his dream. 80% of boys graduating from orphanages in Ukraine end up in prison; 10% of all graduates commit suicide. That is because many of them end up on the streets and are exposed to violence, risk of contracting HIV and living a marginalized life.

We are Association CHILDREN-UA, and we are running an educational summer camp for orphan children in Ukraine in June 2009. During the summer camp, we will ensure that there are opportunities for fun, learning and making new friends. Through games and talks, we will show them the importance of studying, health, security, teach about f HIV/AIDS, teach them tolerance and respect towards others and build on their self-confidence.

We know we cannot change the world, but if we can just help one child like Vitaliy, it will have been worth all our efforts. Our aspiration is to bring a bit of joy to these children and to give them the basic skills to build a healthy and prosperous life.

We need your support to make this opportunity happen for children like Vitaliy! Please go to our website at http://www.children-ua.org/help to see how you can help!

Yours Yuliya.

Yesterday I have got sucn an e-mail:

Hi Mrs. Kulakovskaya,

We were in contact half year ago. But on that time we hired a professional german citizen. This time we are thinking to hire an AIESEC candidate. Are you still interested in that position?

I am thinking if they hired me at that moment what could  happen to me, what  can I do right now and many other questions come up into my mind.  However I am glad to be  where I am right now. There is no way back... But I am just wondering why the life holds us some moments like this one. May be it is a sign :))?

Finally I could watch  the movie "Once". It's worth to watch it. It is more about the music but it's gorgeous.
I already fell in love with one song before.
There is one more song which I like:

Feb 14th I started my LJ edition. Now it is 2 years old : )

Oh yeah, many things happened since that time…. However today it’s not about this.

Saint Valentine’s Day is what it is about. As far as we know this holiday was adapted in Ukraine in the beginning of 90’s.

Here are people celebrate a holiday for decades.  People of all generations either old or  young are very excited concerning this day. Today even the atmosphere in my office was seemed  very romantic and during the lunch we were  discussing some love stories.

I am looking forward for this holiday this year. I did not have a real celebration for couple of years and I missed this amazing day so much.

I don’t know if it is early to say but it seems I am falling in love… or at least is something is going on ))

Wish all of you a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
